Spent the day at my parent's house on an extremely lovely sunny day. Reading on the terrace, cuddling the piggies, helping my mom out in the garden, taking Sofie out for a walk on the flowery dikes, and just hanging out in the sun. Exactly what I needed. Can't wait till next month so I have some more time on my hands to actually make regular visits!

Jaap and I are actually looking for a new home in the neighborhood since I officially decided I'm not a city person (and other reasons). Finding something decent we can afford seems absolutely impossible though. LIFE you guys! Hard stuff.

Wool and Blossom

When I was visiting my mom the other week (same day thís happened) I found that one of our yellow plum trees was blown over in the big storm of last month. The crazy thing was though, it seemed that in sort of a last twitch of life it bloomed with blossom more than ever. I've never seen anything like it, it was like an huge explosion of white flowers. Amazing right? These pictures don't even fully capture it. Still I'm glad I took so many because when I visited again the other day it was almost completely gone. I wonder if it'll still grow little plums? I'd miss picking fresh breakfast in the morning.

And the wind has changed

I've never been one to complain about the weather and have always enjoyed every season for it's change and all the good things that come with it. But this winter was different from the previous and kinda hard on me, this year's cold and lack of sunshine made me feel tired and depressed, however hard I tried to change this and how even more difficult that is to admit. So I guess it's safe to say that even knowing we will be having some returning winter weather here later on this week, I have never welcomed spring with as much joy as I do now. Hello ants and flowers (the lesser celandine makes it official) and sunshine and catkins and the smell of the wind and baby animals and and and. I can't wait to ride my bike through this beautiful polder and enjoy every sight and take all the pictures. I feel so very blessed to be living in an amazing place like this and the decisions I have been overthinking seem so very right right now. It's amazing how a few rays of sushine can make you feel so much better about anything and everything.
