Fix Bike; Ride Bike

Since I moved to Haarlem I have been missing nature like crazy. Haarlem is amazing though, it's super close to the woods, dunes and beach. Biking distance. So I guess you could say that the thing I missed most of all was a sturdy bike I could actually count on to take on longer trips than just to the supermarket and back. Could I afford such a thing? Nope. But thanks to my amazing mom I'm now the owner of this pink little dude anyway!!! It was one of those DIY-put-it-together-yourself packages and even though I'm pretty okay with changing tires and stuff like that, it was kind of a challenge. But I made it work and I absolutely couldn't be happier, adventure here we come!

Vlie pt. one

My bff and I went on a little holiday to the dutch island of Vlieland at the beginning of last month! We have been visiting Vlieland every year for the past few years for the Into The Great Wide Open festival (see posts here and here) but this was the first year we made our trip into an actual vacation. We took the boat from Harlingen a few days early to hang around the island a bit before the excitement started which was probably one of the best ideas we ever had. This first day we rented some cool bikes with pink tires and just rode around the island for a while. We saw lots of cool insects, petted horses, picked flowers, enjoyed the amazing views and the salty sea air, cooked dinner, did a bit of reading, drank some gross pre-mixed mojito and went to bed early. What more could a girl want out of a day ♥

P.S. You might wonder why it took me this long to post... Well... I snapped waaay too many pictures and wanted to edit every single one of them because I thought maybe I could fit them all in just one post. But I don't know who I was kidding because I couldn't fit all those pictures in ten posts if I wanted to! Haha! I managed to narrow them down to about five not-so-huge posts, which I know is still a lot, but hey! I'm an adult! And this is my blog! I can do what ever I want!

Her left eye is lazy

This working from home thing is so silly. I live where I work and I work where I live and this is making me feel like I should be working all.the.time. And so I keep pushing myself to work harder and work weekends and evenings but I only seem to feel inspired or energized to make stuff when I'm on a break or out doing something else. So this is me making a public promise to go out for a ride if I want to. Go see my friends. Visit new places. Get inspired! Yess! This will be my new goal for the rest of the year. Remind me later would you?

Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do

It's funny how much snow changes. Everything is so quiet and peaceful and riding my bike through the beautiful polder is even more magical than it usually is. A few days ago me and my David Bowie playlist went on a two hour ride to discover new places and houses I'd love to live in. I met a load of swans who only seemed to like me because they hoped I would feed them, my cheeks were bright red and my scarf was frozen. I had the bestest of times.
