Into The Great Wide Open 2012
This year's Into The Great Wide Open festival was truly magical. Mirjam and I had so much fun! We saw great bands and other performers, swam in the ocean, biked around the dunes, found a beautiful seagull wing and loads of little crabs and and and, laughed a lot, ate amazing veggie food and saw the weirdest "art" stuff. Into The Great Wide Open really is my favorite festival on the planet and I can't wait to go again next year.
Look! There it is!
Vlieland! The Island of ~*Magic*~
De Goudfazant Zingt (Kim Janssen, Tim Knol and Maurits Westerik)
Sweetest horse on the island <3
I love how derpy my tote looks from an angle.
This was our cabin for a few days! It was great, we both had our own room and it was very new and clean and it didn't smell! (We stayed in a hotel for one night before we could move into the cabin and it smelled so bad I couldn't sleep haha!) It was great to shower and sleep in a real bed instead of a smelly tent.
My room was an instant mess.
We also rented bikes, which was a pretty smart move. Last year we didn't and eventhough it was doable, this was sooo much easier! Plus our bikes had cycling goats on them, can't go wrong with that.
Ben Caplan, also known as the guy that looks like a tree. We loved him untill he started playing.
This was a thing called Kampvuur, where they combined poetry with music. This is Djurre from Awkward I and writer Dirk van Weelden. It was pretty amazing.
Then the power went down so they continued in the dark ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Kim Janssen also played in the dark, accompanied by poet Tjebbe Hettinga. It was beautiful.
Marike Jager at Onder Invloed
The Information Centre at vlieland is so adorable. They have a great collection of animal skulls with Comic Sans tags.
Mirjam mimicking the old lady of the centre who just follows you around and doesn't quit yapping. I suck at communication all together so Mirjam did most of the talking and it was hilarious. She told us the exact same stories as last year! Also, we petted a small shark and a ray in this tank! The shark was so cute, he was like a cat, kept coming back for more lovin'!
Mirjam and I, crying over the amazingness that was Arie's Knakenpaleis ♥
Our little friend we called Tjebbe! Such a cute cuddly cat. We both missed our cats pretty bad so it was great to cuddle this little fluff ball, eventhough we were both covered in cat hair and Mirjam is allergic so she got all sneezy and stuff. Still. Worth it!
I need this T-Shirt.
