Shrimp City - November

Phantasm (1979): Great movie! Classic story without silly cliches. Great gore too. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Kiki's Delivery Service (Majo no takkyûbin) (1989): Sweet! Not my favorite Ghibli though. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

My Neighbor Totoro (Tonari no Totoro) (1988): My favorite! I'm not sure what to think about it being based on the Sayama incident theory though. What do you guys think? ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Spirited Away (Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi) (2001): So incredibly good. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Howl's Moving Castle (Hauru no ugoku shiro) (2004): Also incredibly good. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The Secret World of Arrietty (Kari-gurashi no Arietti) (2010): Such an amazing and sweet sweet movie. I loved it so much, they thought of every tiny little beautiful detail! The only thing I missed was the crazy japanese vibe I love so much in all Ghibli movies, it seemed so very western. This is obviously because it's based on the english book The Borrowers, but still. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Pom Poko (Heisei tanuki gassen ponpoko) (1994): INSANE may be the perfect word to describe this movie. It may be one of the weirdest things I have ever seen. ♥ ♥ ♥

Ponyo (Gake no ue no Ponyo) (2008): Mmmm.. Maybe this is my favorite instead of My Neighbor Totoro! I can't choose! Anyway, it's beautiful, funny and just so adorable. I love the under water stuff and I am so totally naming my kid Sosuke just so I can yell SOOOSUUUUKEEEEE (diiiinnerrrr) all day. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Laputa: Castle In The Sky (Tenkû no shiro Rapyuta) (1986): Looove the robots! The rest of it is nice too but not the bestest of Ghibli films. ♥ ♥ ♥

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009): I'm still annoyed with how fast they went through this one and how many awesome stuff they left out but! Love it anyway! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010): My favorite! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011): My other favorite! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The Big Year (2011): Dumb but funny movie about birding, gotta love birding. ♥ ♥ ♥

May (2002): Not so sure what to think of this one. Needs a rewatch I guess! ♥ ♥ ♥

30 Days Of Night (2007): One of my favorite vampire films! Great concept and awesome teethy dudes. Ending kinda sucks though. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Aliens (1986): Not as amazing as the first one but still pretty damn amazing! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Zookeeper (2011): This was actually sorta bad but I laughed so hard at the voice of that giraffe (I may have cried) that I can't bare to put it with the movies-you-don't-have-to-watch. And I like animals. Je weet. ♥ ♥ ♥

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005): Finally! I've read the first book of the series (after putting it off for so long, loved it though!) so I thought I could finally watch this without hating myself. I wasn't dissapointed! I like the books better but still! Can't go wrong with Sam Rockwell and Alan Rickman anyway. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The Descent (2005): I'm claustrophobic so the stuck-in-a-cave scenes kinda freak me out, but I guess that's all that's scary about this movie. Still very well done and a great watch! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

You don't have to watch these: Death At A Funeral, 11/11/11, Final Destination 4, Dear John & Infestation

  1. Ah so many Ghibli films. I have yet to see Pom Poko, but it does look weird.
So I looked up that thing you said about My Neighbor Totoro and it being based on the Sayama incident theory... and now I'm kind of sad about it. But I guess atleast something good came out of it? A cute movie? I don't know...

  3. Haha PomPoko was zo raar. Ik en mijn vriendje gingen die kijken. Nou, vijf minuten in de film: Aw arme wasbe...HEEEEUHHHH BALLEN. Hahaha.
Jammer...
And I hated HP 7.1. Het einde. :( Nevar forget.
Leuke lijst! Ponyo is mijn favoriete Ghibli denk ik. Hammuuuuuu!
