Shrimp City - September Films

Airheads (1994): Funny! ♥ ♥ ♥

Pinocchio (1940): This totally freaked me out when I was little, so I was kinda surprised to see that it's pretty mellow? Not that scary at all? Still, not my favorite Disney movie. ♥ ♥ ♥

Secret Window (2004): One of my favorite Stephen King films! It's pretty true to the book but more importantly, it has the exact same vibe! It's like rereading the story. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The Howling (1981): That ending!!! Great werewolf story and I love Dee Wallace. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The Lost Boys (1987): These are some seriously awesome bad-ass kids. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Forbidden Planet (1956): WHOPPA! That's the sound of this film going straaaight to my top ten of favorites! So so good. Can't wait to rewatch it. (I even changed my wallpaper! First time in over 6 years!) ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Storm of the Century (1999): This is really long, about 4 hours if I remember correctly, but it's not even boring for a second. Stephen King is so incredibly talented (and has a totally twisted mind). ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Turistas (2006): Mweh. Fine. ♥ ♥ ♥

The Loved Ones (2009): SO FLIPPIN GOOODDD. No but really, so good. The story is probably a bit cliche but it is executed so beautifully and it has the best little details, like the paper crowns, the weird poster collages in her room and the dude being tortured under a big mirrorball with light spinning around. And I love watching a film and feeling like what-the-hell-just-happened afterwards. It's just, perfect. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Five People You Meet in Heaven (2004): Hm. So. Mirjam told me to watch this over a year ago (shame on me) and I kept putting it off because of the TERRIBLE cover, I mean, a film with such an ugly cover can't be good, right? Well, it's nothing like I thought it would be. It's actually really good and sweet and beautiful. A biiit too tear-jerkery for my taste but still, I loved it. Don't judge a film by it's cover kids! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

You don't have to watch this: I Spit On Your Grave, the 1978 version that is. The story is about a woman being gang-raped and left for dead by a bunch of hillbillies after which she hunts them down for revenge. The thing is, I do not enjoy watching rape. Like, at all. The remake is amazing because the rape part of the film is fairly short and it's mostly about her torturing them (in the best possible way). This original is on the other hand probably 98% rape, it made me feel sick to my stomach. But I do recommend the 2010 remake.
